Yuki Tsunoda surpasses Daniel Ricciardo this season
Daniel Ricciardo has been unable to stand out in any of the three races so far. It is not clear why the Australian driver is struggling to improve. During the Australian GP, Tsunoda, his 23-year-old teammate, scored points for the team, which only added to Ricciardo’s frustration.
To make matters worse, Tsunoda once again outperformed Ricciardo during the qualifying session for the Japanese GP, knocking him out of Q3. Ricciardo missed out by just 0.055 seconds, which must have been incredibly disappointing for him.
Ricciardo’s poor performance puts him in a difficult position. If he continues to underperform in the upcoming races, he may be replaced by the Red Bull reserve driver. To compete for a spot at Red Bull in 2025, Ricciardo will need to step up his game.
As mentioned earlier, Ricciardo failed to reach Q3 in the qualifying session at Suzuka. Being defeated by Tsunoda once again is far from ideal. Despite these challenges, the Australian driver maintains a positive outlook.
The 34-year-old driver will start the Japanese Grand Prix from the 11th position.
Ricciardo has been struggling with his VCARB 01 since the beginning of the season. The upcoming races provide him with an opportunity to prove his worth and potential to the team. Many people will be keeping an eye on Ricciardo’s performance in tomorrow’s race, for various reasons.
