Democrats have surged ahead in the race for Senate control, raising an astounding $203 million across 10 key battleground states in just three months – nearly 2.5 times the GOP’s $83 million haul. High-profile Democratic candidates, including Senators Jon Tester, Sherrod Brown, and Rep. Ruben Gallego, each pulled in over $30 million last quarter, far outpacing their Republican opponents.
In Montana, Tester’s $32.2 million fundraising triumph dwarfed his GOP challenger’s $9.7 million. Ohio saw Senator Sherrod Brown raising five times more than Republican Bernie Moreno, amassing $30.7 million to Moreno’s $6.5 million, while Gallego’s nearly $22 million in Arizona vastly overshadowed Kari Lake’s $9 million. Even in traditionally Republican strongholds like Texas and Florida, Democrats have managed to raise impressive sums, putting incumbents like Ted Cruz and Rick Scott on defense.
While Republicans still hold structural advantages in traditionally red states and plan to leverage a new campaign-finance loophole for cost-effective advertising, they will need every bit of it to counter the Democrats’ powerful financial momentum in these critical Senate races.
