The Gresini Ducati pilot, Alex Marquez, has agreed to extend his contract with the team for two more seasons. Marquez will continue to race alongside his brother Marc, who will join the Ducati factory team next season. Despite his inconsistent performance, Marquez has proven to be a race winner for the team, with victories at Silverstone and Sepang in 2023. Marquez’s signing means there is one less spot on the 2025 grid and one less satellite Ducati bike for rookie Fermin Aldeguer. Negotiations are underway to find a place for Aldeguer either at Gresini or Valentino Rossi’s VR46 team. The decision may depend on the future of current VR46 rider Fabio Di Giannantonio, who is a target for the newly announced Pramac Yamaha team. The distribution of Ducati factory-spec bikes for next year may also influence the decision regarding Aldeguer.
