Ken Block, the driver who fueled the passion for automobiles, passed away in early 2023 at the age of 55, following a snowmobile accident, but the former American driver, founder of Hoonigan, and creator of the famous Gymkhanas, left one last masterpiece.
The second episode of Electrikhana, which he filmed behind the wheel of the Audi Hoonitron after ending his historic connection with Ford, is set in Mexico City and has just premiered.
In this final film, Block appears one last time behind the wheel of the Audi S1 e-tron quattro Hoonitron, a 100% electric “beast” with 670 horsepower and powered by two electric motors, all-wheel drive, and an aesthetic inspired by the Audi Sport quattro S1 from Group B, which was specifically created for the stunts of the American driver.
Alongside the engineers from Audi Sport, Ken Block conceived a very special trick for Electrikhana 2 – in addition to a new paint job – that only an electric vehicle can offer: in one of the scenes of the film, the front and rear axles pull in opposite directions, causing the Audi S1 Hoonitron to disappear in a large cloud of white smoke when it is stopped – a scene entirely to the liking of the unforgettable drift driver and his fans.
