The average weekly price calculated by the Energy Services Regulatory Entity (ERSE) decreased by 1.2% for gasoline and 1.5% for diesel, the most used fuel in Portugal.
According to the ERSE report, released this Monday, the efficient price recorded an update, “taking into account the weekly variation of international quotations for simple 95 gasoline at – 2.5% and simple diesel at – 3.2%”.
Thus, “for the week of May 6 to 12, the Efficient Price before taxes is €0.897 per liter for simple 95 gasoline and €0.856 for simple diesel. After taxes, the Efficient Price is €1.814 per liter for simple 95 gasoline, and €1.598 for simple diesel”.
It is worth noting that the efficient price “is a weekly average price estimated by the ERSE and results from the sum of the following components: fuel prices in international reference markets and their respective maritime freights, primary logistics, including in this component the strategic reserves and security of the National Petroleum System, the additional costs of incorporating biofuels, and the retail component plus the respective taxes”.
Regarding the previous week, the report states that “it was found that the average Public Sale Prices announced on the signs, and reported in the Single Energy Counter, were 1.7 cents per liter above the Efficient Price for that week, in the case of simple 95 gasoline, and 3.9 cents above in the case of simple diesel”.
In percentage terms, “regular gasoline was announced at 0.9% above the Efficient Price and regular diesel was announced at 2.4% above”, as reported by ERSE’s report.
