In her debut year with GTE cars, the 22-year-old French driver claimed victory in the GTE-Am class at the 6 Hours of Spa Francorchamps in 2023. Alongside her teammates Luis Perez Companc and Alessio Rovera, Wadoux drove the #83 Ferrari 488 GTE from Richard Mille AF Corse, moving from fourth place to secure the win. The 22-year-old French driver started in karting as a teenager before moving to touring cars in 2019, where she briefly competed in the TCR Europe Touring Car Series. Wadoux then drove an Alpine A110 for Autosport GP in the 2021 Alpine Elf Europa Cup, achieving top-ten results in eight of the 10 races. During her junior year, Wadoux engaged in a close battle for the championship title, finishing second in the junior standings for the 2022 Alpine Elf Europa Cup season.
Impressing the audience in a test for WEC newcomers in Bahrain, Wadoux caught the attention of the Richard Mille Racing team and was hired for the 2022 season. She joined legendary rally driver Sébastien Ogier and ELMS champion Charles Milesi to compete in the LMP2 category. In her second season in the WEC, Wadoux transitioned to GT cars and achieved a historic victory in Spa, driving the Ferrari 488 GTE Evo in the LMGTE Am category.
With a year of experience, the young driver is ready to make her mark in one of Japan’s most prestigious racing series. Wadoux expressed her ambitious goals, aiming to consistently compete for a place on the podium and potentially challenge for the championship title. She praised the passionate atmosphere in Japan, noting the dedicated spectators who braved the rain during pre-season testing at Fuji.
Comparing her experience with the WEC’s Ferrari 488 GTE to the super GT 296 GT3, Wadoux highlighted notable differences in cockpit design and aerodynamics between the two cars. She described the 296 GT3 as an exceptionally beautiful car that offers speed and versatility, adapting well to various conditions. With her impressive track record, Wadoux aims to break barriers and prove that female drivers can excel in endurance racing. In an interview with Motor Sport magazine, she expressed her belief in women’s capabilities in motorsport, especially in endurance racing. Wadoux hopes to inspire and encourage more diversity at the highest level of the sport, sending a powerful message to girls interested in motorsport.
