On February 13th, the new Ferrari car for the 2024 Formula 1 season will be officially unveiled. The Maranello team fell further behind Red Bull last year after a recovery in 2022, and now they want to return to a more consistent fight for victories as they haven’t won any titles since 2008.
The deficit to recover is significant, but according to Corriere dello Sport, Ferrari may be making considerable advances with the 2024 model. It is said to have gained around seven tenths of a second per lap compared to last year. Naturally, at this stage, it’s all based on “laboratory” data, with the official tests in Sakhir being the first on-track moment for everyone.
However, Ferrari won’t be the only one evolving. Red Bull and Mercedes, their main rivals, won’t stay still, and McLaren, who showed significant progress last year to regularly compete for podiums after a rocky start, will also continue to improve. Aston Martin and Alpine also aim to be more solid contenders for top positions.
