Unveiled to the public in July, during the celebration of Fiat’s 125th anniversary, the new Grande Panda, which is about to hit the market, has just received its first international award.
The new Panda was awarded the “Carwow of the Year Award 2025” in the “Car Anticipation” category, which recognizes the best vehicle models across a dozen categories and celebrates the brand and innovation of the year.
In awarding this prize, the jury highlighted the new look of the Grande Panda. “The fresh, angular design and pixelated-looking headlights are very promising. Therefore, there is a good chance of continuing the successful era of the Panda”, said Daniel Hohmeyer, a jury member.
Based on the multi-energy Smart Car platform from Stellantis, the same one used by the Citroën C3, the Grande Panda measures 3.99 meters in length – below the segment average of 4.06 m, 1.57 meters in height, and 1.76 meters in width – and offers well-organized capacity thanks to its compact volume: for example, the trunk has 361 liters of space, and the total capacity of the storage compartments located in front of the front passenger is 13 liters.
The Grande Panda is the first vehicle on the market to include an integrated charging cable, which operates on alternating current up to 7 kW.
The first model of the new Fiat family will be available in 100% electric and hybrid versions. With a 44 kWh battery and an 83 kW electric motor, the electric Grande Panda boasts a range of over 320 km in the combined WLTP cycle.
The hybrid version is expected to combine a 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbo gasoline engine with an electric motor integrated into the six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, along with a 48-volt lithium-ion battery.
