#7: Porsche Penske Motorsports, Porsche 963, GTP: Felipe Nasr, Dane Cameron
Dane Cameron obtained the fastest time during the initial practice session for the Six Hours of Watkins Glen. Driving the Porsche 963 #7, Cameron recorded a time of 1:34.175, securing the first position.
Tom Blomqvist, piloting the Cadillac V-Series.R #31 from Action Express, finished in second place, behind Cameron by only 0.172 seconds. Felipe Albuquerque, driving the Acura ARX-06 #10 from WTRAndretti, finished in third place, just one-tenth of a second behind Blomqvist.
In the LMP2 category, Felipe Fraga stood out as the fastest driver in the Riley Oreca 07-Gibson #74. Fraga recorded a time of 1:35.577, surpassing Nico Varrone in the Oreca 07-Gibson #81 from DragonSpeed by one-tenth of a second. Charlie Eastwood, competing in the Oreca 07-Gibson #8 from Tower Motorsports, completed the podium in this category.
It is important to note that the Tower Motorsports car faced two incidents during the session, resulting in red flags. John Farano collided the car at Esess, causing the session to be temporarily interrupted. Later, teammate Eastwood collided at turn 7, requiring repairs to the barriers.
In the GTD Pro class, Lauren Heinrich achieved the fastest time in the Porsche 911 GT3R #77 from AO Racing. Scott Andrews, driving the Mercedes-AMG GT3 #80 from Lone Star Racing, secured the second best time in the GTD category and overall.
