The Chinese manufacturer GAC has revealed the first images of the new Aion UT, a 100% electric model that the brand will present tomorrow, November 15, at the opening of the Guangzhou Auto Show in China.
The model, which is aimed at global markets, has dimensions similar to the VW ID.3 and more. According to data from the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the GAC Aion UT has a length of 4.27 meters, a width of 1.85 m, a height of 1.57 m, and a wheelbase of 2.75 meters.
In terms of design, the Aion UT features curved lines, a smooth grille, and LED technology headlights, while the interior showcases a clean image with an emphasis on a generously sized screen for the infotainment system, a two-spoke steering wheel, a floating console, and various storage spaces.
The GAC Aion UT is equipped with an electric motor producing 136 hp, which is powered by a lithium iron phosphate battery of unknown capacity.
The specialized press in China has already indicated that this new electric model is expected to announce a range of over 600 km, although the larger GAC Aion RT electric sedan, with a 68.1 kWh battery, offers a range of up to 650 km in the Chinese CLTC cycle.
It is worth noting that the GAC Aion is the best-selling sub-brand of the GAC Group, which specializes in 100% electric vehicles. In addition to the Chinese market, the brand is also present in Thailand, Mexico, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, and the Philippines, with three global models: the Aion V SUV, the Aion RT sedan, and the new Aion UT hatchback.
