Charles Leclerc only managed two podium finishes, compared to Carlos Sainz’s three this season. The 2024 Formula 1 season is already underway, with four Grand Prix races completed. Leclerc has stood out as the early leader of the Ferrari team, while his teammate Sainz has struggled to keep up. Currently, Leclerc is ahead of Sainz in the Drivers’ Championship by just four points. It is worth noting that Sainz missed the Saudi Arabian GP due to appendicitis.
Leclerc openly admitted that Sainz has outperformed him this year and praised his teammate’s skills in the SF-24. Leclerc has secured two podiums so far, while Sainz has managed three. Despite the praise, Leclerc is determined to perform well during the Chinese Grand Prix weekend. The SF-24 is constantly improving, and Leclerc wants to maximize his potential at the Shanghai International Circuit, which is expected to suit the Ferrari challenger.
With over 20 races remaining in the season, Leclerc will have plenty of opportunities to catch up to Sainz. However, considering Sainz’s impressive performance this year, it won’t be an easy task for Leclerc to surpass him.
