Helmut Marko, the Red Bull Technical Advisor, has expressed his thoughts on the current situation of RB reserve driver, Liam Lawson. Lawson, who made his debut in Formula One last year, impressed many with his performance, scoring points in only his third race. Marko has consistently praised Lawson and believes he is deserving of a seat in F1. A decision regarding Lawson’s future in the sport is expected to be announced in September.
However, Lawson has made it clear that he is not interested in joining a team on loan, which puts Red Bull in a difficult position. The team will now carefully consider their options before making a final decision.
Meanwhile, RB driver Daniel Ricciardo has struggled to perform well this season and has often blamed the RB’s VCARB 01 for his poor results. Ricciardo believes that the car is effective on low-speed corners but lacks performance in high-speed regions.
Although RB has shown improvement in some races, they have been inconsistent overall. The team will use the summer break to address their weaknesses and aim for better results starting from the Dutch Grand Prix.
