Hyundai has revealed a special limited edition of the 100% electric Kona (Kauai in Portugal) aimed at the Japanese market. Designed to embody a robust and more adventurous spirit, Hyundai names this special version of the Korean SUV Mauna Loa, in honor of the world’s largest active volcano.
This special limited edition variant of 30 units features a body paint in Mirage green, and to give it an adventurous look, Hyundai has applied a scratch-resistant black color to the bumpers, fenders, exterior mirrors, and window outlines.
The interior, like the exterior, stands out with Mirage green finishes, accented with neon yellow details, along with rubber floor mats, a storage pouch for the back of the front seats, and a foldable seat to assist in placing luggage on the roof bars.
In terms of the engine, this special edition of the Hyundai Kona Mauna Loa does not feature any changes compared to the standard 100% electric variant. It is equipped with a single electric motor that powers the front wheels and is fed by a 64.8 kWh battery, allowing for a range of up to 540 km.
