Russia’s Belgorod region faced a surge in cross-border shelling and drone attacks, with dozens of projectiles hitting villages near the Ukrainian border, according to regional authorities. Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported on Telegram that the barrage included ten projectiles directed at the Belgorodsky District villages of Dubovoye, Krasny Khutor, Otradnoye, Repnoye, Streletskoye, and Yasniye Zori. Eight drone strikes accompanied the shelling, with air defenses intercepting and downing six of the UAVs, state-run TASS news agency confirmed.
Ukrainian forces reportedly launched 13 projectiles at Gorkovsky, Bezymeno, Dronovka, and Kozinka in the Graivoronsky District. Additional attacks targeted Vyazovoye and Staroselye, where drones dropped explosive devices, causing further damage in the area.
The Shebekinsky District saw two projectiles and three UAVs strike the town of Shebekino as well as the villages of Grafovka and Sereda. Local authorities confirmed that eight civilian vehicles sustained damage from the attacks over the past day, underscoring the impact of the escalating cross-border hostilities on residents in these regions.
These recent escalations highlight the ongoing volatility along the Russia-Ukraine border, with Belgorod increasingly becoming a focal point for both drone and artillery attacks as Ukrainian forces continue their efforts to disrupt Russian operations near the frontline.
