Josh Allen, the Buffalo Bills’ superstar quarterback, recently put his massive contract to good use by treating his QB teammates — Mitch Trubisky, Mike White, and Shane Buchele — to a night out at Yankee Stadium for Game 4 of the World Series. Fans spotted Allen and the Bills’ quarterbacks in the crowd as the Yankees steamrolled the Dodgers with a stunning 11-4 victory. But here’s the twist: while his teammates cheered for the home team, Allen wasn’t exactly there for the Yankees.
A longtime San Francisco Giants fan, Allen grew up in Firebaugh, California, where locals are typically dyed-in-the-wool Giants supporters, and with that allegiance comes a strong anti-Dodgers sentiment. So, while Mike White — a first-team All-Broward County high school baseball star and Yankees fan — and the rest of the crew rooted for the Bronx Bombers, Allen had an ulterior motive: he was there to cheer against the Dodgers.
“I was happy to treat them for all they’ve done to support me,” Allen shared during a press conference on Wednesday. “But I’ll admit, my motivation wasn’t all Yankees.”
Allen and his squad didn’t linger in New York too long. They hustled back to prep for a major AFC East showdown against the Miami Dolphins. And Allen showed no signs of distraction from his brief baseball break: the Bills dismantled Seattle 31-10 in a commanding performance, with Allen throwing for 283 yards, two touchdowns, and just his first interception of the season. Currently, he’s boasting 1,766 yards, 14 touchdowns, and a quarterback rating of 73.7, placing him 4th in the league.
Bills fans are certainly happy to see Allen channeling that competitive spirit both on and off the field — especially when it means giving rivals like the Dodgers a hard time!
