The presidential race in Pennsylvania is deadlocked, with Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump each securing 42% of voter support, according to a Monmouth University poll released on Wednesday. Pennsylvania, a pivotal swing state, could play a critical role in the 2024 election outcome, and both campaigns have focused heavily on winning its electoral votes.
The poll also shows a significant rise in voter enthusiasm, with 81% of Pennsylvania respondents saying they are “extremely motivated” to vote—a noticeable increase from 75% last month. Among these highly motivated voters, Harris and Trump are evenly split at 48% each, illustrating the state’s deep partisan divide.
While Harris previously led with 50% support over Trump’s 46% in a September poll, the recent data indicates a tightening race. Conducted from October 24 to 28, the Monmouth survey included 824 registered Pennsylvania voters and carries a margin of error of ±3.8 percentage points.
