Kush Maini, driver for Invicta Racing, has been disqualified from the qualifying session of the FIA Formula 2 World Championship in Bahrain. Maini had secured his first pole position on Thursday at the Sakhir circuit. However, after a post-qualifying inspection by the Stewards, it was discovered that there was an irregularity in the floor of his car. Specifically, it was found that the front outer flap of the left undertray was below the minimum required height, which goes against the technical regulations. As a result, all of Maini’s lap times in qualifying have been invalidated, and he will start from the back of the grid in both the Sprint and Feature races this weekend. Gabriel Bortoleto, Maini’s teammate at Invicta Racing, now takes the pole position, while Isack Hadjar of Campos Racing moves up to the front row in second place. This decision also affects the reversed pole position for the Sprint, as Jak Crawford of DAMS moves up to 10th position in the qualifying standings.
