The MG5 Electric model from MG Motor, a brand belonging to the Chinese SAIC group, descendant of the British Morris, obtained a five-star rating in the Green NCAP tests, the main independent European program for testing environmental impact.
The 100% electric station wagon with a 184 hp engine and 280 Nm of torque, associated with a 52.5 kWh capacity battery, capable of offering a range of 400 km, achieved a total of 10 points, the maximum possible, in the clean air index, 9.2 in the energy efficiency index and 9.5 in terms of greenhouse gases.
In addition, Green NCAP highlighted the consumption values in the tests that were within the expected range, around 18-19 kW/100 km in the series tests in the laboratory and 27 kWh/100 km in the road test, as well as the light weight of the MG5 Electric, 1,560 kg. Overall, the MG5 Electric achieved an average score of 95% in the Green NCAP tests, thus receiving five stars from the tests conducted.
