The Miami Dolphins are retooling their lineup in response to several setbacks. With wide receiver Braxton Berrios out for the season due to an ACL injury, the team has elevated Dee Eskridge from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. Eskridge, who joined Miami in August, has been lightly used with just one catch for 30 yards but is expected to add flexibility in both wideout and slot roles.
Meanwhile, quarterback Tyler Huntley’s shoulder injury has landed him on injured reserve, sidelining him for a minimum of four games. In his absence, the Dolphins are set to reinstate Tua Tagovailoa as the starting quarterback, backed by either Skylar Thompson or Tim Boyle. Additionally, C.J. Beathard, a former 49ers quarterback, was added to the Dolphins’ practice squad to reinforce the team’s depth at quarterback.
To bolster the defensive line, the Dolphins also signed Matt Dickerson to the practice squad. The move follows an injury to key defensive tackle Zach Sieler, who reportedly fractured an orbital bone during practice, making him unavailable for Miami’s next game against the Arizona Cardinals. With multiple positions impacted by injuries, the Dolphins are adapting quickly to maintain their competitive edge in the season.
