Abarth has introduced its second 100% electric model, the 600e, which the Italian brand claims is the most powerful model ever, with 280 hp.
The new model, developed with Stellantis Motorsport, marks an important step for Abarth, as it establishes a new benchmark for electric hot hatches and for the sportiness and electrification of urban cars, thanks to its racing attitude.
Visually, Abarth decided to stand out by focusing on four key elements: the front and rear bumpers, the spoiler, and the wheels. At the front, engineers and designers elongated the silhouette, highlighting the so-called “shark nose,” improving aerodynamic performance and thus giving the specific bumper a characteristic volume with the three-dimensional Abarth inscription.
The front aspect is also the result of a lowered configuration and a wider track, with an additional 30 mm at the front and 25 mm at the rear.
Far from being merely aesthetic, the strongly square shapes of the aerodynamic spoiler and the extractor in the bumper have been studied and tested in a wind tunnel to improve the performance of the New Abarth 600e.
Additionally, this new Scorpion is equipped with 20-inch diamond-finished alloy wheels with a 5-spoke design, inspired by the stylized graphics of the Scorpion’s sting, allowing a glimpse of the sporty brakes and painted calipers through its wide openings.
Inside, there are similarities with the Fiat 600e; however, the Abarth 600e features a combination of synthetic leather and Alcantara, with contrasting stitching.
Notable is the sporty steering wheel with leather and Alcantara inserts on both the top and bottom, adding extra sportiness and maximizing grip. The uniqueness of the new Abarth 600e is achieved through specific choices, such as a dedicated seat, aluminum-coated pedals, footrests, and mats featuring the Scorpionissima, which, thanks to its tinted windows, maintains its mysterious and dark spirit.
The interior appearance is also enhanced by additional elements such as the Abarth plaque, the 7’’ color TFT instrument panel with specific Abarth graphics, the central tunnel cover – which, like the ambient light on the driver’s left side, will only be available in the limited edition Scorpionissima – and the instrument panel itself – painted black in the Abarth 600e Turismo and in matte black with glossy black serigraphy in the Scorpionissima.
The Abarth 600e is available in two versions: the sporty Abarth 600e Turismo entry-level model, with 240 hp, and the fully equipped limited edition Scorpionissima with 280 hp and a maximum torque of 300 Nm, providing a more enjoyable driving experience that allows acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.85 seconds and reaching a top speed of 200 km/h. This Scorpionissima version is limited to just 1949 units.
Both versions of the new Abarth 600e are equipped with three driving modes. The Turismo mode provides a smoother acceleration with 150 hp for the Abarth 600e Turismo and 205 hp for the Scorpionissima, combined with 300 Nm of torque for a fun and efficient driving experience, limited to a maximum speed of 150 km/h. This configuration also includes a sporty calibration of the accelerator pedal and steering, as well as a standard calibration of the ESP.
The second driving mode, Scorpion Street, features a power output of 205 hp for the Turismo model and 230 hp for the Scorpionissima, with a torque of 345 Nm and a maximum speed limited to 180 km/h; the third driving mode, Scorpion Track, includes an aggressive calibration of the accelerator pedal, a sport+ steering setup, and enhanced ESP tuning. The Scorpion Track configuration is how the Abarth becomes more fun, delivering maximum performance for track days with a top speed of 200 km/h, 345 Nm of torque, and higher power of 280 hp for the Abarth 600e Scorpionissima and 240 hp for the Turismo version.
The Scorpion brand has already announced that the new 600e will hit the market in early 2025, with a starting price in Portugal of €45,000.
