Nissan announced that by the end of October, it reached 1.5 million vehicles equipped with the e-Power system, the brand’s exclusive technology.
The e-Power system uses a small-capacity gasoline engine and a lithium-ion battery to power an electric motor that drives the wheels, resulting in powerful acceleration and a quieter response.
It is worth noting that Nissan launched the e-Power system in Japan in 2016 with the Note. Since then, the brand’s exclusive technology has been expanded to other models, and by the end of the fiscal year 2023, the system was already used in 42.6% of the models sold in Japan.
In Europe, the e-Power versions of the X-Trail and Qashqai SUVs were launched in 2022, with a total of over 100,000 units sold by January.
Nissan continues to expand the e-Power technology and has already announced that the system will arrive in the U.S. and Canada by the end of the fiscal year 2026.
