The Skoda Octavia Break RS has been awarded the “Golden Steering Wheel 2024” in the medium-sized car category.
The selection process began with readers of the German magazine “Auto Bild” and the best-selling Sunday newspaper in Germany, “Bild am Sonntag“, who voted to place Skoda’s top sports model, one of the brand’s bestsellers, among the top three out of a total of 16 vehicles in this category.
Subsequently, a jury of experts consisting of 21 members, including race car drivers, journalists, and celebrities, subjected these three finalists to a rigorous driving test at the Lausitzring racetrack in Germany and awarded the Golden Steering Wheel to the Czech manufacturer.
It is worth noting that the Skoda Octavia Break RS is equipped with a 2.0 TSI engine that delivers a power output of 265 hp, which is 20 hp more than its predecessor, and is only available with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission, boasting a top speed of 250 km/h.
The top-of-the-line version of Skoda’s bestseller, which has sold over seven million units to date, features black exterior details and RS Design Selection for the interior. The equipment includes Matrix LED headlights, heated sports seats, and a modern infotainment system that integrates ChatGPT for enhanced voice assistant functionality.
