Opel and Bandwerk have joined forces to produce a series of Apple watch straps inspired by the iconic Manta GSe.
The result is the limited edition collection, “Timeless Energy”, which is based on the idea of recycling two original black front seats from the legendary 1970 Manta A, and has now led to the presentation of a unique watch strap that blends cutting-edge technologies to compose and assemble materials in a modern and bold design.
The yellow structure follows the same “clean design language” as the Manta GSe, with a functional Blitz texture inside the sweat-resistant strap. The design is complemented by a sculpted metal Manta detail to secure the strap in place.
Remember that the Manta GSe was introduced by Opel in 2021, a concept car with the original design, but with a 147 hp electric motor replacing the four-cylinder engine from the 1970s used by the legendary Manta A.
“This project is another example of how we are saving resources by creating something new and desirable from something that would have been thrown away in the past”, said Rebecca Reinermann, Opel’s Vice President of Marketing.
