There is only one Paige Spiranac in real life. However, on social media and other platforms, it seems that there are many impersonators. Despite her clear instructions to report and block any accounts not verified by her, some of her followers still struggle to understand that she has no association with these fake handles.
During a Q&A session on her Instagram story, a follower asked a serious accusation, questioning if she was involved in a money scam using her name. Spiranac swiftly denied these claims, warning her fans about the potential scams that falsely use her name and can become uncontrollable and frightening.
In her Instagram update, the athlete made it clear that she only has her verified accounts and her Passes account. She emphasized that anyone claiming to be her or associated with her is fake. This is not the first time such incidents have occurred, even during her collaboration with Bryson DeChambeau.
The golfer reiterated her stance of not asking for money. She urged her followers not to give money to anyone claiming to be her and clarified that she does not have Google Hangouts, WhatsApp, or Telegram accounts.
Spiranac pleaded with her followers to protect themselves and not fall for these scams. She explained that she can be identified by the millions of followers on her verified social media accounts. She made it clear that she does not create alternate accounts or have a personal Passes account. This information is crucial, especially considering her substantial following of 4 million on Instagram, X on Twitter, and 3.6 million on Facebook. If her followers had understood this, they would not have fallen victim to fraudulent accounts and fake licenses.
Around five years ago, someone used a fake driver’s license with a photoshopped picture of the golfing influencer to impersonate her and ask for money. Another user named Leonard Harrison came forward to report receiving the same driver’s license picture as well. This incident highlights the lengths some individuals go to deceive others.
There have been instances where Spiranac’s image has been misused. Screenshots from her older videos have been edited to portray her in a misleading manner. These manipulations include removing the head cover she was holding and replacing it with a sign that contained an inappropriate message. It is important for followers and fans of the 31-year-old to remember her statement – she will never ask for money. By keeping this in mind, they can avoid falling victim to scams.
