EXCLUSIVE: The cast of Percy Jackson and the Olympians has formed two group chats, according to Aryan Simhadri. The names of these group chats may be simple, but they are undeniably amusing.
During an interview, Simhadri disclosed that one of the group chats is called “The Percy Gang.” This chat includes himself, Walker, Charlie, Dior Goodjohn, Leah, and Andrew Alvarez. The group chat is represented by a lightning bolt icon.
Furthermore, Simhadri, Walker, and Leah have their own separate group chat named “The Trio.” These three individuals are part of the core trio of characters in the series, namely Percy, Annabeth, and Grover. Scobell and Jeffries portray Percy and Annabeth, respectively. The adult cast is completed by Virginia Kull, Adam Copeland, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and the late Lance Reddick.
The first season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians is an adaptation of Rick Riordan’s novel, The Lightning Thief. This book is the first installment in a series of five (which has been expanded with additional books) that Disney+ hopes to adapt. Simhadri’s interview revealed that the cast has a strong bond, which will undoubtedly contribute to the show’s long-lasting success.
It is worth noting that this is the second significant adaptation of the Percy Jackson book series. In the early 2010s, 20th Century Fox released two films based on the books: The Lightning Thief and Sea of Monsters. These movies featured actors such as Logan Lerman, Alexandra Daddario, and Brandon T. Jackson.
