Yuki Tsunoda took part in the rain-affected FP2 session at Suzuka during the Japanese Grand Prix. Due to the lack of track time, there was an increase in fast laps on slick tires in the final minutes of the session. McLaren’s Oscar Piastri was the fastest, setting a lap time of 1:34.725 on soft tires. This was only 0.501s slower than Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton. Charles Leclerc secured third place on soft tires but chose not to push on his only representative lap, leaving him four seconds behind. The two Red Bull cars, with Yuki Tsunoda ahead of Daniel Ricciardo, claimed fourth and fifth positions, respectively. In total, only nine drivers managed to set a time on the leaderboard, with Lando Norris, Carlos Sainz, Esteban Ocon, and Kevin Magnussen completing the list. The results of FP2 can be reviewed below.
