Sergio Pérez was one of the protagonists of the São Paulo Formula 1 Grand Prix, enlivening the race until the end in an exciting battle with Fernando Alonso for third place – in which the Aston Martin rival came out on top by just 0.053s.
Despite the favorable outcome and having to settle for fourth place, the Mexican from Red Bull assured the championship’s official website that he enjoyed the fight and the performance he had:
– It was a great fight with Fernando. I don’t think many drivers can make this kind of maneuver. It was very close from start to finish and it was super fun. To be honest, I had a lot of fun. In the end, he ended up getting the podium, but that’s how sports are. It was a good performance. I think we were just unlucky with the yellow flag. But overall, I think it was a good race.
