The American electric vehicle brand, Tesla, has now announced that its Gigafactory in Fremont, California, has reached a historic milestone with 7 million units produced.
Recall that this Tesla production facility reached its first million cars produced in 2020, and three years later, in 2023, it reached 4 million units.
Now, one year later, Tesla announces that the Fremont factory just produced the 7 millionth unit on October 22. The California factory has been one of the units contributing to the increasing sales of the brand, as Tesla reported positive results for the third quarter of 2024 this week.
According to Tesla, profits grew by 17%, reaching $2.167 billion in the third quarter, with significant growth in operating margin and revenues.
Between July and September 2024, Tesla produced 467,796 vehicles and delivered 462,890 units, numbers higher than the 430,488 and 435,059 vehicles in the third quarter of the previous year.
However, for the cumulative period from January to September 2024, the numbers fell short of expectations, with Tesla selling 1,293,656 units, compared to 1,350,996 units sold in the same period last year, representing a 4.3% decline in sales.
