Starting from the next season, the Hyperpole qualification will be used in all rounds of the World Endurance Championship (WEC). It applies to the Hypercar and LMGT3 categories.
Until now, this format was only used in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with the remaining races having only a 15-minute qualifying session. Yesterday, the FIA World Council meeting in Geneva determined the Hyperpole for all rounds.
In both classes, drivers will have a 12-minute qualifying session, followed by the ten-minute Hyperpole session, which is reserved for the top ten fastest drivers from each category’s qualifying session.
