DS Automobiles has announced that the new DS 8 fastback it is developing will offer a range of up to 750 km in the combined WLTP cycle, which the brand claims has been made possible through extensive work on the car’s aerodynamics and advanced technology.
The images now revealed by DS show that the exterior design embodies the dynamism of the most elegant SUVs, adapting to the needs of a 100% electric powertrain, with the front section characterized by a recessed windshield and a hood that is positioned lower.
The front also features a highly technological identity. The characteristic lighting signature of DS Automobiles is enhanced by vertical DRL (Daytime Running Lights), which frame the DS Pixel Vision headlights.
Additionally, at the rear section, there is a notable slope of the rear window, which plays a crucial role in achieving a drag coefficient of 0.24Cd. This way, DS Automobiles has designed a highly efficient model.
The French brand also announced that the new model will be fully revealed before the end of the year, and that at this moment more than fifty pre-production units, covered in an original camouflage, are entering a new phase of development on French roads.
Moreover, the original camouflage of the test models features a deep black contrast, accented by aerodynamic lines in gold. This unique camouflage unveils hints of the overall design of the future model and is based on the colors of the DS E-Tense FE25 single-seater that competes in the FIA Formula E World Championship.
