Tiger Woods is not only known as one of golf’s greatest players but also as the wealthiest. In a recent video by Don Harvey, fans got an insider’s look at Woods’ luxurious lifestyle, thanks to his long-time caddie, Steve Williams. Known as one of the top caddies in the sport, Williams was Woods’ trusted partner from 1999 to 2011—a period during which Woods secured 13 of his 15 major victories, including four Masters titles, three U.S. Opens, three Open Championships, and three PGA Championships.
Williams revealed glimpses of Woods’ extraordinary lifestyle, recalling his time living with the golfer in a gated community where their neighbor was none other than NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal. “Tiger lived in a gated community… Shaq used to live in the same gated community as Tiger,” Williams shared, adding that the experience was always eye-opening, with Woods’ collection of custom cars and booming sound systems on full display. “These guys make exponential kind of money, and they have properties that are… unimaginable,” he said.
But their partnership didn’t get off to the smoothest start. In a humorous twist, Williams recalled that when Woods first called him, he hung up, thinking it was a prank. “I have a mate who can imitate Tiger to a tee,” Williams laughed. Fresh off a long flight from New Zealand, Williams mistook Woods’ voice for a friend’s impression and hung up, only to pick up the call a third time and finally realize it was indeed Woods. “‘Steve, I’m looking for a caddie. Are you interested?'” Woods asked, and the rest, as they say, is history.
This legendary partnership not only brought unparalleled success on the course but also gave fans an inside look at life with the GOAT. Let us know in the comments—what do you think of the Woods-Williams partnership?
