The bitter rivalry between Donald Trump and Barack Obama reignited in fiery fashion Tuesday night, as Trump labeled Obama “a jerk” while the former president mercilessly mocked Trump’s campaign antics.
At a rally in North Carolina, Trump launched into a tirade against Obama, claiming he “couldn’t care less” about the country and was “exhausted” from campaigning for Kamala Harris. “I think he’s a real jerk,” Trump said, accusing Obama of being a divisive figure.
Meanwhile, in Detroit, Obama fired back at Trump, roasting him for hawking sneakers and $100,000 watches during his presidential run. “Who sells golden sneakers when they’re running for president?” Obama quipped, before delivering a rap onstage after being introduced by Detroit rapper Eminem.
The verbal sparring came as both former presidents held dueling campaign events, with Obama mocking the size of Trump’s rallies and comparing Trump’s behavior to “swaying to YMCA” instead of answering questions.
As tensions between the two continue to escalate, their clash has injected a new level of drama into the 2024 campaign season.
