The battle between the Lexus LC and the Porsche 911 is like comparing apples and oranges. While both cars can be considered sports cars, they offer different features and options. The Lexus LC is available with a 5.0-liter V8 engine that produces 471 horsepower or a hybrid version with a combined output of 354 horsepower. On the other hand, the Porsche 911 comes with various engine options, including a 3.0-liter, 3.7-liter, or 4.0-liter twin-turbo or naturally aspirated flat-six boxer mill.
One advantage of the Porsche 911 is its wide range of choices. It comes in different variations and even offers a Targa version. Additionally, the Porsche can be equipped with all-wheel drive, while the Lexus is only rear-wheel drive. These differences make it clear that the two cars are not directly comparable.
However, there are some who believe that the Lexus LC 500 and Porsche 911 Turbo could go head-to-head. Evrim Ozgun, a virtual automotive designer from Turkey, has created a CGI story that brings these two cars together. In his vision, both cars have undergone extensive modifications. They feature ultra-widebody aerodynamic kits, aftermarket wheels, and exposed carbon fiber elements.
The question arises: should Lexus and Porsche take inspiration from these modifications and showcase refreshed versions of the LC 500 and 911 Turbo? Should the aftermarket industry follow suit and create body kits that take these cars to the extreme? Only time will tell. Porsche is known for its simple facelifts, so any updates to the 911 series are unlikely to be extravagant. As for Lexus, it remains to be seen if they will refresh the LC or discontinue it due to slowing sales.
