In a shocking health alert, over 1,200 packets of green onions have been urgently recalled from major retailers, including Trader Joe’s, after concerns they may be contaminated with salmonella. The recall, issued by Church Brothers LLC, impacts stores across 11 U.S. states, including California, New York, and Florida.
The contamination was discovered during testing by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, which identified salmonella in a single sample. Affected products include Trader Joe’s Green Onion Iceless 24 x 6oz Reg, with the lot code CB272328 and a packing date of September 25, 2024.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has advised consumers to immediately dispose of these products and not consume them. While no illnesses have been reported so far, salmonella can cause serious symptoms, particularly in vulnerable populations like children and the elderly.
If you have purchased these products, you can contact Church Brothers Farms Consumer Hotline for more information. Stay vigilant and protect your health!
