Texas Motor Speedway hosted an exceptional race after its reconfiguration on Sunday. Hendrick Motorsports team emerged as the winners after their teammate caused a collision on the final lap, leading NASCAR to call for a yellow flag.
The first half of the race showed the typical and uninspiring race that Texas has become known for over the years. The pole sitter dominated the previous laps to secure the stage win. However, things took a turn for the worse in the second stage, with several yellow flags due to drivers spinning out or colliding with each other.
One of the most significant spins of the day occurred in the second half of the race involving Chase Elliott and Denny Hamlin. While competing for the lead, Toyota No:11 spun out behind Chevy No:9 of Elliott. This allowed the 2020 Cup champion to easily maintain his lead, eliminating one less competitor to worry about.

Denny Hamlin is widely disliked by NASCAR fans, so it was no surprise that there was a large group of supporters who enjoyed seeing him spin out. Some fans even used the Toyota driver’s famous taunt “I beat your favorite driver” against him.
One of the main reasons why many NASCAR fans do not like Chase Elliott is due to the conflicts he has had over the years with fans’ favorite drivers, including Elliott. It can be assumed that Elliott’s fans were pleased to see Hamlin, who never hesitates to show aggression in the final laps, racing against their star driver.
Yes, and he will cry and blame Chase for it.
DENNY HAMLIN IS DONE 🤣🤣🤣
There’s no use crying over spilled milk. 🏁
I know for sure that the fans on the track are applauding Hamlin’s crash 😭😭💀💀
He just lost to his favorite driver.
What did you think of Chase’s aggressiveness today? Personally, I loved it. It was a great race.
Although the spin was a big disappointment for Denny Hamlin, it doesn’t affect him much. He has already secured his spot in the playoffs with two impressive wins on short tracks. The performance in Texas showed that JGR can excel in races beyond short tracks, and the No. 11 team will be aiming for a comeback sooner or later.
