Tyler Reddick expresses his thoughts on a disappointing result in Texas after being in contention for the win. The NASCAR Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway witnessed a historic win for a Hendrick Motorsports driver, ending a 42-race winless streak. However, throughout the race, this driver was not the dominant force. On the contrary, the driver from 23XI Racing showed one of the fastest cars on the track and was on his way to victory before a setback during a late pit stop.
Tyler Reddick maintained a position in the top 10 throughout the race. After the first stage, he made several strategic moves to climb to the top 5 and eventually took the lead from another driver. Unfortunately, his hard work was undone during a pit stop, causing him to drop in the standings and finish in fourth place after leading for 37 laps. After the race, Tyler Reddick shares his thoughts on the disappointing result in Texas.
“The win should have been ours today, plain and simple,” expresses Tyler Reddick, who finished in fourth place. Reddick showed one of the most dominant cars during the afternoon, but lost the lead during a late pit stop.
The Toyota Camry XSE No. 45 appeared visibly disappointed as the opportunity for victory slipped away due to circumstances beyond his control. However, the fourth place marks Reddick’s fourth consecutive top 10 finish, a streak that we hope will motivate him to come back even stronger, as he is currently in excellent form.
Since the reconfiguration of Texas Motor Speedway in 2016, there have been significant criticisms regarding its surface. Chase Elliott recently mentioned that the track used to be one of his favorites before the changes. Echoing this sentiment, Tyler Reddick also expressed his disappointment with the worn state of the track after his race. He emphasized how the deteriorated condition of the track makes it difficult to navigate.
The 23XI driver seemed to imply that the overall issues with the track regarding overtaking and close racing became evident after his pit stop mishap sent him to the back of the pack. With the track receiving criticism from drivers, analysts, and fans, NASCAR will certainly need to address these concerns before they become a major issue.
