British YouTuber and BBC personality Yung Filly, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, has been arrested in Australia on charges of sexual assault. The 29-year-old, known for his meteoric rise on social media and collaborations with major British brands, was detained in Brisbane and extradited to Perth, where he faces accusations of assaulting a woman in his hotel room following a performance at Perth’s Bar1 Nightclub.
Barrientos has been charged with multiple counts of sexual penetration without consent, assault, and impeding breathing by applying pressure to the neck. His bail application was adjourned after he appeared in Perth Magistrates Court, and he remains in custody as investigations proceed.
Yung Filly rose to fame on YouTube in 2013, gaining over 1.84 million subscribers and three million Instagram followers through comedic content and collaborations with figures like Aitch, KSI, and his friend Chunkz. His popularity led to appearances on BBC’s Hot Property, collaborations with brands such as ASOS and McDonald’s, and appearances in high-profile events like Soccer Aid and the Jonathan Ross Show.
Originally from Colombia, Barrientos moved to the UK as a refugee, a background he often speaks about with pride. His Australian tour, which began with performances in major cities, has now taken a stark turn as fans and followers await updates on his legal proceedings.
