The debut season in Formula 1 was not easy for Logan Sargeant, who only scored his first – and only – point at the United States Grand Prix. There were some mistakes along the way, but the progress in the final phase of the season was enough to convince the Grove team to keep him for 2024.
However, it was not a decision made due to lack of alternatives. The assurance was given by team boss James Vowles, who was quoted on grandprix.com: ‘We had other options, yes. But we invested a year in him because I believe in him. He simply deserves another chance to show what he’s worth next year’.
The British praised the improvements that Sargeant showed in the last moments of the season: ‘He had a lot of difficulties, but in those last four or five races it was truly visible that he was improving’.
